Triamcinolone and Econazole Cream

Ingredients

This product is a combination formulation containing 10 mg of econazole nitrate and 1.0 mg of triamcinolone acetonide per gram. Excipients include: benzoic acid, propylene glycol, glycerin, lanolin, stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, polysorbate-80, liquid paraffin, and disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate.

Action Category

Indications

1. Dermatitis and eczema accompanied by fungal infection or with a predisposition to fungal infection;
2. Inflammatory fungal skin diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, such as tinea manus and pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea versicolor;
3. Diaper dermatitis;
4. Candidal angular cheilitis;
5. Paronychia;
6. Mixed skin infections caused by fungi and bacteria.

Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1%, econazole nitrate 1%.

Dosage and Administration

For topical use only. Apply an appropriate amount of this product to the affected area once in the morning and once in the evening daily. For the treatment of dermatitis and eczema, the course of treatment is 2–4 weeks. For the treatment of inflammatory fungal diseases, continue therapy until the inflammatory response has subsided; the duration of treatment should not exceed 4 weeks.

Adverse reaction

1. Local, occasional allergic reactions may occur, such as skin burning sensation, itching, or a prickling sensation.
2. Prolonged use may lead to skin atrophy, telangiectasia, hyperpigmentation, and secondary infections.

Taboo

Not to be used by individuals with skin tuberculosis, syphilis, or viral infections (such as herpes, vaccinia, or varicella).

Precautions

1. Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes (such as the mouth, nose, etc.).
2. If you experience burning, redness, or swelling at the site of application, discontinue use immediately, wash off the topical medication thoroughly, and consult your physician if necessary.
3. Do not use over a large area for extended periods.
4. Children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women should use this product under the guidance of a physician.
5. Do not use continuously for more than 4 weeks. For areas with thin skin, such as the face, underarms, groin, and genital region, do not use continuously for more than 2 weeks. If symptoms do not improve, consult a physician.
6. Do not use if you are allergic to this product; use with caution if you have an allergic disposition.
7. Do not use this product if its appearance has changed.
8. Please keep this product out of reach of children.
9. Children must use this under adult supervision.
10. If you are currently taking other medications, please consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.

Pharmacological effects

In this product, econazole nitrate is an antifungal agent with antibacterial activity against dermatophytes, molds, and yeasts (such as Candida), and it is also effective against certain Gram-positive bacteria. Triamcinolone is a glucocorticoid that exerts anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, and anti-allergic effects.

Store in a sealed container, in a cool place (not exceeding 20℃).
